Cyril Takayama

I am just watching Da Bear's show, Thou Shall Not Blink, and it burnt again my desire to do magic again. I've been doing some magic since I was in fourth year high school, and after I went to college, I stopped updating myself and stopped practicing magic, but sometimes I do performed some magic with my cousins.

I've performed the tricks of David Blaine, such as coin bite, card tricks, levitation, etc. in front of my relatives and former classmates, but after I saw this Cyril Takayama, he just put the magic of Blaine, or even Criss Angel in history. Why? His magic, Cyril that is, is so amazing and so new. Even I, could not figured it out how he did that. I tried searching it over the net, but I can't find how he got those tricks. Just one of a kind.

Here is a brief introduction of Cyril Takayama from wikipedia:

born 1973, is an American illusionist, born and raised in Hollywood, California, USA. He is perhaps best known for his street magic performances in Japan. His father is of Okinawan descent, while his mother is Moroccan-French, both of whom were beauticians. He was a member of the short-lived television series T.H.E.M. In 2007 he won first place in The Magic Woods Awards, Best Magician Category.

Cyril became interested in magic when he was 7 years old, when he went to a magic show in Las Vegas where he saw a guest magician levitate a woman and cut himself in half. The first time Cyril ever performed magic in front of people was during his school's talent show. At the age of 12, he entered the junior program at the Magic Castle inHollywood.

Some of Cyril's signature tricks include the hamburger in the menu trick, having his head fall off his shoulders, and the card in the window trick. His most dramatic trick was above a Las Vegas hotel, where he bungee jumps into the hotel pool with a sword and spears the chosen card of his co host from a deck floating in the water.

Here are some of his amazing tricks. Some videos were spoken in Japanese. But if you want to hear him speak English, just watch the last video. LoL.

Cigarette Routine

Coin Through Glass Trick

His famous burger trick

Cellphone Trick

This the most 'sick' trick. Not the ambitious card, where the chosen card goes back to the top, but the second trick. Just watch.

If you want to see more magic of Cyril Takayama, just go to youtube. There are lots of videos of him there. And I mean a lot, and all of them are 'sick'.

IPT Viewer's Choice Challenge Match on April 29

Please support our very own Pinoy cue legend Efren 'Bata' Reyes on April 29, 2008. He will be participating on IPT's Viewer's Choice Challenge Match. He will be going up against the rising star of the United States of America, Austin Murphy.

I guess Reyes has all the pressure to win this one because his opponent is just a teenager. Murphy has nothing to lose on this match and has everything to gain, IMO. But I know Efren Reyes will be pulling this one off.

You can view the game live by registering to the website of IPT. If you did not get the chance to see the game live, you can see the results here -> Efren 'Bata' Reyes - Austin Murphy.

Mario Cheats

Most of the people who were born just before the 1990's will surely knew the game of Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3. The difference of Super Mario 2 from 3 is that in three, you can choose some equipments just before you start the stage, just like what me and my cousins called the 'super P'(the drawing looked like a cloud with a letter 'P' in it, hence the super P), because it gives you the ability to fly. So if there are lots of enemies on the ground, just use that equipment and you can finish the stage staying on air.

In 3, there is also a map so you can choose any stages that you want.

Another thing that I like in Super Mario 3 is that whenever there is a slope, you can slide and if there are enemies on the slope. So if there is an enemy on the slope, just slide unto them and they will all be killed.

Super Mario Bros. was like the RPG of all games back then, but the difference is that it was still in 2-d. Another thing is that cheats are not that easily available because there were no internet at that time so what we do is to rely on word-of-mouth cheats, where we only ask our neighbors if they know any cheats about the game.

Today, thanks to internet, Mario cheats are available in just a click. Though it takes away the challenge in a game, I am easily tempted to search cheats on the internet especially if I am having a very hard time solving the mystery of the game.

BlogBank Ads Now Working...

This post should have been out two days ago, but I want to solve first the case about the Google Adsense Verification Message. The warning is now gone, thanks to the fast reply of Google Support. If you are encountering the same problem, willyoumind shows another way on how to solve the problem.

Anyways, I was kinda late getting the news that the blogbank ads are now working on blogspot blogs. Previously, they are having some problems with the ads because blogspot are refactoring the ads. But thanks to Maruel, he gave a solution to this problem that is why we are now enjoying the opportunity to earn on BlogBank.

Google Adsense Verification Message?

As I log in this afternoon in blogger.com, I saw this message on my dashboard:

Once I saw the warning, I immediately checked my email for the Google Adsense Verification message. After opening my email, I didn't see any message from them. I tried to look at my spam folder if their message was separated there, but I didn't see any message from Google. I also checked my trash folder to see if I accidentally deleted this message but I didn't see the 'message' too.

I tried contacting their support but when I clicked the submit button, I got a message saying there was a server error and I had to try again in thirty seconds. I have tried three times, but the same message always appears. I'll just try again tomorrow morning.

I have received my Adsense pin last month and entered it correctly, that is why I am wondering why they need this 'verification message'.

If anyone encountered the same problem as mine and has solved it, please do comment on this post on how you solve the problem. If you are experiencing the same problem, you can comment here also so we can solve the problem.

Long Line at PRC

I am going back and forth at UST in the past few days to meet with some friends when I noticed a very long line coming from PRC (Morayta) up to the street of P.Campa. To those who don't know where P.Campa is, it is the street where The Thomasian Square can be found.

As I saw those people lining up, I remember that I have been there, not only once, but twice. First is for registering to take the exam, and second is for the mandatory retake(see 'more about me' above).

I know the suffering of every person will get as soon as they enter the PRC building. The employees of PRC are great, honestly, and they are trying their best to decrease the pile up, but it is just so many people inside the building which makes it very difficult not only for them, but for the future professionals too.

As a two-time veteran(Lol), here are some of my tips before going to PRC.

1) Never go alone - Always be with your friends. I am very sure you don't wanna go that pile outside the PRC just staring on the jeepneys passing by and no one to talk to. It would be verrrry boring. Another reason is that when you are inside the PRC building, you can have some teamwork done so that you can finish filling up your forms very quickly.

2) Always bring candies/crackers and water - I am sure that going in line and filling up your form will surely drain your energy. Bringing some of these food will refuel you and gives you 'some' energy to move on to the next procedure. The water is not only for 'panulak', but to replace lost fluids because surely, you will sweat a lot! =]

3) Extra shirt - Your shirt will surely be soaking wet after you finish all the procedures needed to register, so it is better if you have another shirt to replace it.

I know the feeling when you get into the final procedure, which is in the upper floors of the building(I forgot what floor that is). Hope these tips help you somehow. Good luck to the future professionals!

Suffering from Arthritis

I am again suffering from a mild attack of arthritis(inflammation of the joints). Yes, I have an arthritis at this very young age of ___. Lol. Just compute my age using the date I graduated as seen above. This time, the part that is aching was the joint of my right thumb. Maybe this was the result of playing Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition for too long. Just an update, I am on mission 6 right now. =]

I was diagnosed to have arthritis first quarter last year. I can still remember having the pain in my right hand, and it was so stiff, that I can't even open the palm of my hand. It was like doing hard stretching whenever I open the palm of my hands. Luckily, after a week of forcing myself, I can now open my hand as it was before.

I was given a medicine back then, but I know that I can't rely on medicines. What I did was to look on the internet on how can I reduce or prevent inflammation through diet. I found out that eating lots of fishes that contain high in omega-3 can reduce inflammation. With that, I created my own diet, which is just adding fish, especially tuna in my meal. It was just recently that I have not eaten any fish in my diet.

Another thing that I learned in my course is to exercise not only the joint(you should rest the joint during pain), but the whole body too. Exercise helps produce endorphins, which helps relieve pain, and also reduces weight, therefore reducing the burden to my joints.

Luckily, the pain wasn't like before. If it is like before, I won't be able to make this post, uhm, maybe I can make this post, but it will take a lot of time before I can finish this one.

*This is only in my case. Each of us is a different case. Consult your doctor so that he can give you proper treatment*

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is the upgraded version of Devil May Cry 3. I just bought this piece of game last week. I know it was kinda late to buy this gamebecause honestly, I am a 'late bloomer' in terms of gaming. Another proof is that I just bought Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater just mid last year.

There are some improvements in the Special Edition compared to Devil May Cry 3(though I have not played Devil May Cry 3). According to Wikipedia:

It included a number of gameplay changes and additional content. Most notably, players could now choose to play as Dante's twin brother, Vergil. Other changes included an added survival mode called "Bloody Palace" with a total of 9999 levels; a new boss fight early in the game, with optional fights later; a "Turbo Mode" for 20 percent faster gameplay; and a continue system which can revive the character instantly, or allow the player to restart the fight they just lost as many times as they like. The game also has rebalanced difficulty.
I am still having difficulty in killing the bosses. First is the grim reaper. After trying so many times, I found a way to kill that boss. Right now, I am in mission 5: Of Devils and Swords. This time, I am having difficulty how to kill the two monster brothers. I tried a couple of times killing them but I end up short. So if you have any tips on this game, just put a comment on this blog. =]

Tips in relieving symptoms of prolonged use of computers

I am trying to get away from my pc for a while now because I am experiencing some bad effects of staying too long in from of the computer. Here are some of the symptoms that I experience and some interventions that I did to relieve the symptoms.

1. Dry eyes/eye strain - This is due to infrequent blinking and prolonged focusing in your monitor. What you can do is to exercise your eye by focusing on your thumb for five seconds, and focus on an object 10-20 feet away from you, again for five seconds. You can repeat this for 10-15 minutes.

2. Stiffening of joints(elbow) - This due to lack of mobility. I am using my touchpad(in my laptop) because I sold my mouse to my cousin. I never knew that this can really put some pain and stiffening to your muscles. What I did was just do some range of motion exercises, and it has relieved the symptoms for me.

3. Back pain - Due to lack of mobility, you tend to let your back curve downwards without you knowing it. What you can do is to lie on a hard surface, a floor maybe. A hard surface will support to straighten your back, unlike in a soft bed, your back tends to curve because it does not offer good support.

4. Constipation - This is contributed by two factors. Dehydration due to the heat we experience in this past few days, and immobility. What you can do is to drink a lot of water, and to increase fiber in your diet. I am going to include again wheat bread on my diet. Because it really helps a lot increasing bulk in stool. Success!

5. Weight gain - This is due to lack of exercise, therefore decrease metabolism. I regularly checks my weight every week. I checked my weight last week and I was in 152 lbs. This morning, I weigh 156 lbs. Three pounds in just one week. I am now exercising using my hip hop abs DVD, it is somehow effective in me. Oh yeah baby!=]

Hope you get some tips on how to relieve some symptoms(if you have the same symptoms) regarding some effects of prolonged use of computers.

*If symptoms persist, consult your doctor*

Sharing some traffic

Last week, I got a post in my sports blog that uses the keywords 'Invasion: Philippines vs The World Results' for the April 6 event. Luckily, I got my post to land on the first page of Google and in the first place(but now, I am only in the second place) on that day. That is the main reason that I got a lot of traffic on that day.

Since not all of us got Balls Channel, which aired the event live, I tried to cover the whole fight live. I told the people in the forum of Pacland that I am covering the fight live which gives me another great number of visitors.

My sports blog only averages 50-60 plus visitors. But with the help of Google, I got 3800 plus visitors for that day.

I knew that most of my visitors will be men, so I put my 'Leah Dizon' avatar in one of my ad spot in my sports blog(well I put that one a long time ago because I cover mostly MMA and boxing, which is a sport mostly for men). I knew they will be attracted to click that button, which led my sports blog to share some visitors on this blog. See the pic below to see the sudden spike of visitors on this blog on that da. It's not that many, but they are still visitors. Every visitor counts. =]

If you want to use sports events for your blog, here are the upcoming events that can give you some visitors(I am also using these keywords):

1) Miguel Cotto vs Alfonso Gomez, Antonio Margarito vs Kermit Cintron 2
2) Battle of the Planet - Bernard Hopkins vs Joe Calzaghe
3) UFC 83 GSP vs Matt Serra II.

*Please bear with me posting these kind of articles. I know these are tiny accomplishments compared to big time bloggers. I am just happy of these accomplishments because I have no background in computers, and I can see I got improvements in my knowledge about computers.

Getting Paid by Blogsvertise

I applied for Blogsvertise a couple of months ago for additional income online. It took me a month before they got me an assignment, a review for cheap hotels available in Europe. After I have written the review, I got the article approved immediately. They will pay you thirty days after they have approved your article. I checked a while ago my account in Blogsvertise if they had paid me already, and I saw that they had sent the payment in my Paypal account( I checked my Paypal account and the payment was indeed had been sent). Check the picture below.

There are a couple of 'first' in this transaction. This is my first money to be sent via Paypal. This is my first income online via posting.

My objective now is to increase my assignments. In order to do that, you must increase your page rank. Well, that is only my guess, because the blog that I used there before has a page rank of 2, but for no reason, it went back to n/a. Since then, I have not receive any assignments from them. So if you want to exchange links, just comment on my blog saying you want to, and I am happy to exchange links with you. If you want to apply for Blogsvertise, click here.

Questions on Domain, Webhosting, ETC.

I am planning to put my own blog with my own domain. But I am worried because I do not know anything about computers. You see, my course is not in line with computers, well, we took computer lessons during college, but it was just the basics of computer and some programs such as MS Office.

In the past few days, I have been searching for webhosting services. I searched on Googel on some of the webhosting services available. There is godaddy and the lot, but I prefer Pinoy-based webhosting because of the support, since our time will be the same compared to the foreign-owned companies. For the local webhosting services, I am choosing between philhosting and ploghost. But I am hesitant to get a plan because I don't know what will happen next. I tried to educate myself about putting up a blog/website, but no information was retained in my mind. It was like I am reading a Chinese newspaper because I do not know the terms such as MySQL etc. So please can somebody answer some of my questions? Here are they:

1) How do I set up a blog after I purchase a domain and a plan?
2) Is the set up of the blog just like here in blogger?
3) Do I really need to learn this MySQL and PHP, and ASP.Net?
4) Some in the FAQs of the companies said I will upload files via FTP? What is that?=]
5) How do I set up my template? For example, I want to keep the template of this blog, how will I do that?
6) How can I edit the layout of my blog?

These are my questions as of now. Just like in the medical field, when someone will be having an operation, their greatest fear is the fear of the unknown, so we provide proper information needed to decrease the fear. I got the same fear right now that's why I can't move on and purchase my own blog/domain. So please, if you know something about this, just put a comment on this post. Thanks in advance! =]

I earned $500 for 1 day

I just checked my accounts and saw that I made $500 just in one day. I know a lot of people are having a hard time to reach this goal, but to reach it in one day is truly an amazing feat.

I know you will ask me what did I do to make such money in one day. The answer is basically simple. It is today's date, April 1. Because today is April Fools Day! Weee!

If you still don't get what I mean, this post is just a joke. As in joke, joke joke. Gotcha! ^_^
