I've been thinking of some ways on how can I increase my blog's traffic. One way would be SEO, but I am not an expert on it, though I consider my Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch successful. Another thing that I did was to join forums and promote my blog. Another thing I can do, but didn't, was to advertise on other blogs, but it costs a lot, though projectwonderful offers bidding on ad space on small amounts. Good thing there is entrecard. This is one way of advertising on other blogs for free. You even get to drop your card on other blogs, but I don't know if they even click those.
I concentrated advertising on entrecard. I blog hop and always drop my business card on their entrecard whenever I visited their website. My first business card looked like the picture below. A simple white background with a green stripe on the middle, with the word 'EntrepreNars' in it. I advertise on other blogs via entrecard using this business card.
But it only generated a few clicks. Eight clicks is the most. I wonder why it generated a few clicks. The answer would be the design of my business card. It sucked. It is so plain, it don't catch any visitor's attention. What i did was to create another design, but again, I am no expert on that kind of thing. So I had to think of another way. And that 'way' was to pick a picture that will catch the attention of visitors. I decided to pick this picture (see pic below):
She is Leah Dizon. She is a TV personality in Japan with Chinese, French, and Filipino heritage. Maybe you are wondering why I chose this. Well, my basis of using this 'hot chick' is from tech magazines. I just imitated their strategy on using hot women in front page of tech mags. I know you've mistaken tech mags as men's mags just by looking at the front page. If not, good for you(",).
I tried advertising on Kuya Dexter's techathand.net. Here are the results.
For my first two ads, I used the plain white, green stripe business card. Look how many clicks it generated. Only one and two clicks. But look at how many clicks it generated after I used my second business card(my leah dizon business card). It generated twenty two clicks! It is still small compared to other blogs, but any grade school kid can tell that the clicks have increased.
There are disadvantages on this kind of strategy:
1. It only targets male visitors - Male visitors will surely click on this ad because they are curious on what's behind that picture. But for female visitors, I am surely will be turned off because of this pic.
2. Visitors will think it is a 'po rn' site - Visitors will surely think it's a 'po rn' site because of the nature of the picture.
3. You may offend some bloggers when you advertise or drop your business card on them - I am hesitant to drop or even advertise using this kind of pic, especially if the blogger is a female. Simply because I don't know if they are open to this kind of pics. I even wonder how Kuya Dexter think when he saw my ad. But I just thought, this was just an experiment, if they not approve my ad, they can decline my ad application, and I just have to change the pic again.
There were a couple of bloggers who decline my ad. It's okay for me. As I said, this is just an experiment. And I will keep on changing my business card from time to time, experimenting.

I fell asleep...
Weeks ago, I bumped an article about this Earth Hour Movement. I went to their website to check out what they are all about. I was impressed that there was this movement who wants to save the Earth from global warming. And because of that, I immediately signed up on Earth Hour showing my support to them.
I was made aware of this global warming because I saw a clip on youtube about global warming. I think this was the movie of Al Gore, well I don't know if you can call it a movie or a documentary, because all Al Gore did was explain to an audience about global warming while being taped. I never get to see the whole film, but the clip on youtube gives viewers some important points about global warming. I don't know if the clip was still there on youtube.
I was really anticipating this event. I even told my mom to turn off the lights on March 29, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. up to 9:00 p.m and she agreed.
And March 29 came, I fell asleep in my bed, I think it was 7:00 p.m. that I fell asleep. Of course, my mom doesn't remember this kind of things, and we forgot to turn off the lights in our home. I fell asleep with our lights on, our television on. Instead of contributing to the Earth Hour movement, we did the exact opposite. So I would like to say sorry to Mother Earth for not contributing to the Earth Hour movement. Well, to make up for this, I will do my own Earth Hour movement tomorrow, and hopefully, it will turn out as a habit.

Google is not Googel, but it is from Googol
Google is the most used search engine today in the internet. It owns a large percentage of share when it comes to search engine. But did you know that Googel, I mean Google is a misspelling of googol, which is a number that is equal to one, followed by one hundred zeros(I got this definition from dictionary.com)?Now you know. =]
And here's another trivia. Did you know that a lot of people also misspells the word Google into Googel? You can check it on Googel Trends to see the evidence. That is why I am making this most and joining other bloggers using this keyword for SEO purposes.
I hope that this post lands on the first page of Googel. Though it was kinda late, it is much better than never making the post. =]

Grow Island
I just want to share this game to you all. This was shared by my friend this afternoon. This game is basically growing the island, just as the title says. But this is not the typical game like The Sims, because there are some tricks in this game such as volcano eruptions and earthquakes, which will take you off your strategy.
This game is somewhat a puzzle-type of game because each button/panel will upgrade the other button/panel. You must think carefully because each action has an effect on the others. The main goal is simply putting all the levels of the buttons into maximum levels. Click the picture below to see exactly how it looked like after finishing the game, so you would know if you are on the right track.
It took me nine hours straight before I solved this puzzle. I started at 1:30 p.m., and I finished this game at 10:22 p.m. My only break was when I ate my dinner, when I watched American Idol, and PBB Teen Plus. I even tried to solve this puzzle on commercial breaks.
Here's a tip on how I solved the puzzle. Prepare a pen and a paper because this was all about trial and error, and so that you won't get lost in clicking the buttons because it happened that I am clicking the same buttons repeatedly in the same order, which cost me a lot of time. You must also have great patience. At first, you'll only get to maximize two buttons, then four, then seven, up to the eight. So patience is really needed in this game. And here's another clue in solving the puzzle -> Before you start a family, make sure you got everything. LOL.
Enjoy the game by clicking here.

My Google Adsense Pin
I just received my Google Adsense pin a while ago. I never thought that I will received this so early because when I applied for Google adsense, it took one week for my blog to be approved, and when I exceed ten dollars, I can't edit my payment details for a week. I am really surprised when I received this pin exactly three weeks after I got the message from Google saying they have sent my pin(March 4, and I received my pin today, March 26).

All play, No Work, Makes Dyimz a BUM
Now I know why I haven't received any call yet from UST Hospital. The reason is that they are freezing the hiring of staff nurses in UST. Well, I know that they had freeze the hiring of nurses a week before the holy week. I am not that convince since I have not seen the post in USTH's bulletin board. So I had to go to UST, which I did this morning, and saw the big post that the hiring of nurses was indeed brought to halt.
Now, I don't know if I am going to look for another job, maybe a part time job, or a full time job with other hospitals, or just wait for USTH to lift the freezing. If I am going to work as a nurse, my only choice is UST Hospital. First is that I am a Thomasian since I was a kinder(yabang! yeah!), and I only see myself working inside the vicinity of UST. Second is that UST has the best compensation for nurses, as far as I know compared to other hospitals.
The only thing I can do now is to be patient, and to continue blogging =]. I am still thinking if I am going to leave my beloved UST and look for a job in other hospitals or maybe in a company.
P.S. Let's pray for the fast recovery of former President Cory Aquino. She was diagnosed to have colon cancer. And starting now, I will also be taking red meat out of my diet, as opposed to the diet I posted before.

Trabaho = Job
I made this post because Marghil came up with another idea on how to use Filipino keywords on SEO purposes. So I am using the word 'trabaho', or job in english.
Many of us Pinoys don't have a job (trabaho) or underemployed. Even I don't have a job right now, but I am still waiting for my last interview for UST Hospital. That is why I started blogging, so that I can use my time while waiting for that call. Though I don't see myself quitting blogging even I have a work.
Internet has been a great use for Pinoys who are looking for a job. Even some employers prefer their applicants to submit online. Here are the following websites that I found where you can search for a job:
Jobstreet.com
JobsDB.com
careerjet.ph
Trabaho.com
JobsOnline.com.ph
Bestjobs.ph
Jobs4Philippines.com
PhilippineJobs
PhilippineJobs.ph
These are some of the websites where you can look for a job (trabaho). So what are you waiting for?Try looking now! This may be the first step that will change the path of your life. =]
P.S. You can also try blogging if you want. Click here to see the proof that blogging is for real.

SEO Experiment: Successful! =]
I can say that my seo experiment for Pacquiao vs Marquez rematch result was successful. This blog got a lot of visitors on the day of the fight, well, it's not that many compared to the other blogs, but it is successful for a two-week old blog. Some blogs were down just before the fight because of the increase in visitors. I don't know if this blog experienced that too as I am watching the fight in SM Cinema. =]
The following are the stats according to Bravenet and Projectwonderful. As you can see, March 15, Saturday(American time) had the highest number of visitors.

This SEO thing is kinda addicting. I am planning to do this more often especially when there are incoming fights in boxing and and mixed martial arts. But this time, I will now post it in my sports blog, where it is more appropriate to post articles like these.

A lesson in perfumes and negotiating...
I was contacted by my friend/co-seller on eBay just this afternoon asking the contact number of Xend Express. I asked why, because I know that he doesn't like the service of Xend, because he didn't like the first impression Xend gave to him. He said that he will be sending a perfume together with an anime figure to Cebu. Air21 is asking him for an estimated minimum rate of two hundred eighty pesos(P280). He only asked the buyer to pay one hundred eighty pesos (P180) for the shipping fee, short of P100 compared to the actual price. One more thing is that it will take five days before the buyer will receive the item. According to my friend, Air21 told him that perfumes are not allowed inside the plane, so they will be using other means of sending the item.
Xend Express is much cheaper courier compared to Air21, especially if you are within Metro Manila. But if the buyer is located outside Metro Manila, it will take two to three days before the buyer will receive the item. That is why most eBay sellers choose Xend if their buyer is within Metro Manila, and Air21 if the buyer is located outside Metro Manila. Anyways, my friend called Xend Express and he was told that they are not allowed to ship those kind of items. We are both pissed because we don't know the reason why they don't accept perfumes(I am assuming he don't know because he never told me the reason), or I may say hesitant with those kind of items.
One thing that came to my mind is the threat of bombing. As a precautionary measure, they will not allow any kind of liquids inside the plane, just like what MRT did before to their passengers. After a while, Xend Express arrived in our place to pick the item that my buyer bought. When I saw Kuya Jordan, the one who pick up my items, I immediately asked him why they are hesitant to send perfumes. He said that inflammables are not allowed, unless they are packed so good it won't ignite easily. I told myself, 'Why I have not think of that?'. Well, it was close to what I was thinking.
My friend told me that he will just send back the payment because he doesn't want to pay for the additional 100 pesos. I don't see that as my first option. One thing I learned from Trump's books is to negotiate always. I told him that give the buyer another option, that he should tell the buyer what Air21 told him about the shipping rate, that if he(the buyer) would like to add another 100 pesos. If not, then that's the time when he will send back the payment.
It is a win-win situation for both of them, since the shipping fee my friend is asking is the actual fee. If the buyer agreed, then another sale was completed. If not, then my friend can send back the payment. At least my friend knew the other side first before taking any action, and at least he tried making the sale.

Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez: Unfinished Business video
Click here for the video of the Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch.
Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao is ready to face Juan Manuel Marquez this coming Sunday (Philippine time) for the 2nd time. I am ready too, and very much excited for their upcoming rematch. In fact, I just bought a ticket in SM San Lazaro for the live broadcast for this fight in their cinemas. Some say it is just a waste of money, that they prefer to watch free video online. But for me, watching inside the cinema is priceless. I've watched every Pacquiao match since they started broadcasting it live on cinemas, except for the Barrera fight. In cinemas, you get to meet different people, you share different opinion and views of the fight, and most specially, you get to give high fives to everyone when the match is over and Manny Pacquiao was announced the winner.
I'm trying to optimize this post for the upcoming rematch. My previous Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch Result was removed by Google, so I will try to replace that post with this post. Bloggers are getting ready for the upcoming rematch. So Pacmaniacs, are you ready too? =]

Gundam 00
Gundam 00 is the latest anime that came from the famous Gundam franchise. I watched the first few episodes, and I got the impression that this Gundam series is all about Earth, fighting for energy, since it is scarce at that time. To have more energy, they made a very tall tower to absorb some from other resources in outer space(this is not accurate because I haven't finished the whole series).
The mecha were awesome just like the previous Gundam series have shown. What I liked about this series is that each mecha has its own role in fighting. Here are the gundams and my thoughts about them:
Gundam Exia (piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei) - This Gundam specializes in close-quarter combat.
Gundam Dynames (piloted by Lockon Stratos) - Specializes in sniping and long-range shooting.
Gundam Virtue (piloted by Tieria Erde) - I love this mecha! Lots of weapons and has massive firepower!
Gundam Kyrios (piloted by Hallelujah Haptism) -
For Gundam figures, click here and type 'gundam' on the search bar.

WTF???
Oh No! Not again! Google took my Pacquiao-Marquez post off the first page! Yesterday, I still saw my post on the first page, I think it was in the sixth place. The photo below was taken last March 7, I was on the eight place.
This morning, I checked my post again and it is now missing on the first page. I tried searching the url of my post and this appeared:
This is the second time that this happened to this particular post. The first one was when I put a link from Friendster, the same thing happened to my post. And this time, I don't know the possible cause why Google has taken my post off the first page. This is also the second time I got my post taken off from Google. The first one was with the xeeber post, but it was now back in the first page.
This is a very bad timing for Google to take my post off, because the upcoming fight is getting nearer and nearer. This should have put some traffic in my blog even though I am not in the top spot.

My 'post 'is now back!
I made an article yesterday about my post being demoted by Google after putting a link on Myspace. Earlier this morning, I almost went nuts when I tried to search for my post and saw this:

My post's url is missing again! I just told myself that it is just an experiment anyway, and that this was a good lesson to be learned, that I should not have put a link again from Myspace nor Friendster.
After a few hours, still persistent, I tried to check my post again, and I was surprised that it landed on the first page of Google, again, for the keyword xeeber. It was now in the eight place, a place higher before my post suffered a demotion. =]
My friend cycloid-y is putting links in his Friendster, but didn't suffered the demotion that I got in my posts. There must be something wrong when I put those links in my Friendster and Myspace account. That, I have to find out.
P.S. We are currently optimizing our site for The Contender Asia Finals Result. =]

The Contender Asia Season Finale/Finals Result
The Contender Asia is still on going on axn. We will monitor the whole season up to the result of the finals here in my blog.
So here is the breakdown of the fighters and the teams that are participating and the results of every episodes as well.
Team Wildboars:
Naruepol Fairtex
Sean Wright
Raffik Bakkouri
Bruce MacFie
Alain Sylvestre
David Pacquette
Dominik Zidov
Joakim Karlsson (Yukay)
Team Tiger Kings:
Trevor Smandych
James Martinez
John Wayne Parr
Yodsenklai Fairtex
Soren Mongkontong
Dzhabar Askerov
Kim Khan Zaki
Jose Pitu Sans
The results so far:
Episode 1: Naruepol defeats Trevor via UD - I think this was a mismatch, well anyone who faces a Thai in this sport is a match, unless he is a Thai too.
Episode 2: Sean Wright defeats James Martinez via TKO Round 1- Nasty kicks to the leg!
Episode 3: John Wayne Parr defeated Raffik Bakkouri via UD - I guess this match was too early to happen. The match of two captains. Anyways, it's good to see John Wayne Parr win.
Episode 4: Yodsenklai defeated Bruce MacFie via UD - As I said, anyone who went up against a Thai is a mismatch.
Episode 5: Soren Mongkontong defeats Alain Sylvestre via TKO Round 3
Episode 6: Dzhabar Askerov defeated David Pacquette via UD - This was a very close fight. Definitely it can go the other way around, but Askerov pulls this one off.
Episode 7: Zidov defeated Zaki via TKO Round 2:
Episode 8: Joakim Karlsson defeated Jose Pitu Sans via KO Round 1:
Episode 9: Yodsaeklai KO's Naruepol.
Episode 10: Sean TKO's Yukay.
Episode 11: John Wayne Parr KO's Zidov.
Episode 12: Dzhabar KOed Soren
Episode 13: Yodsenklai KOed Sean
Stay tuned for the next episodes and of course, the most awaited The Contender Asia Season Finale.
I am working with the results of The Contender Asia with my very good friend cycloid-y.

Google hate links from Myspace and Friendster?
I've been blogging for just five months now, and I only started experimenting on search engine optimization or SEO late last month. I am not an expert on this subject, but I think the main goal of this is to put your site on the first page of Google. And to do that, you have to create as many links as possible to your post or blog (but according to Jehzlau-Concepts, you should create ten links below per day).
I tried to optimize first the keyword Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch Result. I tried to put some links in forums and using the url of my post in my comments to see if it was effective. I think it was successful because Google indexed my post just a few days for the Pacquiao-Marquez keyword. But I want my post to be on the first page of Google, so I created blogs in social networking sites such as multiply and friendster. I started first linking my post from my blog in multiply. When I checked my post, still it did not land on the first page. After a few days, I added another blog in my friendster this time, and link that blog to my post. I checked my post the day after and Google said that my link was broken or not existing. What? I just checked the day before and it was still indexed by Google. What I did is I removed the link from my friendster first, and see if Google will index my post again. And that is exactly what happened. The cause of my demotion is the link from my Friendster blog.
Now, I am trying to optimize the keyword Xeeber. After a few links, I saw my post on the first page of Google, ninth place, since there are not so many blogs optimizing that keyword. I am just experimenting on it. I want to be on the top place so I added another blog, this time on Myspace. Few hours, I checked my blog on Google for the keyword Xeeber, and tsaraan! My post is now missing! I entered the url of my post, it is still indexed by Google, but I can't find my post in the first ten pages! I just removed my blog on Myspace a while ago to see if that is really the cause of the demotion of my blog.
As of now, I am concluding that Google don't like links that are from Myspace and Friendster. I may be wrong, but that is what I am experiencing right now. If you know anything about this subject, please feel free to suggest or comment, since my knowledge about seo is very limited. I will truly appreciate it. =]

Xeeber - Detect invisible users on Yahoo!

Wanna know who is invisible in your Yahoo! Messenger? This is website is perfect for you. Xeeber.com. It detects invisible users in your Yahoo! Messenger. You just have to put the name of the user you want to find out in their search box and then press enter(or click the magnifying glass), and tantararaan! Invisible became visible! So if a friend or relative owes you something and is hiding from you, try Xeeber. As the saying goes, you can run but you can't hide. LOL.
Sometimes, their server is busy so you have to try and try again. I've known this website since late last year, maybe you'll think that this was very late. Well, I got nothing to post today, so this maybe a good article for those who doesn't know Xeeber yet.

Google Analytics lacking security?
I was talking again with my friend cycloid-y just a while ago. He asked me if I sign up for Google Analytics. I have not signed yet in Google Analytics so my answer was a no.
One reason that I am not signing up with Google Analytics is security. When I am logging in with Gmail, Blogger, or Google Adsense, I always make sure that the 'https' and the padlock is present in my browser. This is a sign that the page is encrypted and secure, isn't it? Whenever I go to the Google Analytics page, there was no https and padlock present in my browser, and I am being asked for my password!
I know about this security features because of eBay. I am an eBay seller, and eBay has been target with lots of security attacks, that is why they are teaching every eBay user about this. That is why I am very careful with this subject. Maybe I am just paranoid or something, but as long as Google will not encrypt the Analytic site, or maybe someone credible will assure me that it is okay to use it, I won't sign up with Google Analytics using my account. I just don't want to jeopardize my accounts with Blogger, Gmail, and Adsense.
If I will use Google Analytics, I will just create another email that can be used for that program. And most likely, that's what I'll do.

The importance of Diet
Earlier this morning, as I was eating my breakfast(it was a two medium-size pandesal and two cocktail hotdogs as 'palaman'), I just realized that I was not following my diet. Again!
What was this diet?
There is seven days in a week, right? In the five days of a week, I should not eat red meat. This include steaks, burgers, anything that is derived from beef and pork. I should only eat white meat. This include fishes, and chicken meat without the skin. For two days I can only eat those included in the red meat section.
It doesn't mean that I must eat five days straight without red meat. I can schedule them anytime within a week, like three straight day without red meat, then one day of red meat diet, two straight without, then again one day of red meat diet.
Sometimes, in order not to have withdrawal symptoms in red meat, I just space the red meat meals all over the whole week. The no red meat diet is composed of two days, right? That is a total of six meals. Sometimes what I do is I'll eat one red meat meal in every day of those six days. And I will not eat red meat on the seventh day. That is much easier thing to do.
Why am I doing this?
I have read an article before that high red meat intake increases the risks of having colon cancer. Who wants that? Nobody. This is where the saying 'Prevention is better that cure' comes in.
Why am I saying this?
I am saying this because there are lots of factors in the environment that can harm our body. And a lot of them our beyond our control(especially the pollution here in Manila). We(Manileños) are exposed frequently in these uncontrollable factors. That is why we must be aware on what we eat. The only thing we can control is what we put inside our body. We do not want to add another to those harmful factors, do we?

Pacquiao vs Marquez Rematch Result
Unfinished Business Results - Pacquiao won via split decision.
Judges' scorecards - 112-115 for Marquez, 115-112 and 114-113 for Pacquiao.
Click here for the full video of their rematch.
Pacquiao vs Marquez II (2) - Manny "Pacman' Pacquiao is set to fight again on March 15, 2008 (March 16, 2008 here in the Philippines) against Juan Manuel Marquez. It will be held on Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first fight was a classic, with Pacman knocking down Dinamita three times in the first round. But Juan Manuel Marquez, showing a true heart of a champion, rally and fights back to score a draw.
I am planning to watch this rematch in SM Cinemas but I don't have a ticket yet. And if I didn't get the chance to buy a ticket for this fight, this will be my second fight of Megamanny that I haven't watch live since his rematch against Barrera.
I will also be posting here my thoughts in the Pacquiao vs Marquez fight result instead of posting it in my sports blog.
BTW, this was inspired by a post that I read on techathand.net. So what I am trying to do is optimize this site for the upcoming rematch of two legendary warriors. I just hope that it is not too late. =]

I am now indexed by Google!
After three days of exchanging links, and putting comments on blogs, I am now indexed by Google. Of course I will not stop on that. I will keep on doing that to achieve my next goal, and that is to get a pagerank.=] Click on the picture to view larger image.
This is an achievement for me because it took me weeks and months on my previous blogs before they were indexed by Google. I know blogs can be indexed within twenty four hours, but I am not an expert on that. I am contented being indexed after three days.

Positive earnings in '08
I've been an eBay seller for over two years now, and for the first time, I recorded a positive earnings for two consecutive months. I can say that this is a good start for me this year because unlike my previous earnings, the most that I can get is only five hundred pesos.
I've been struggling on how to turn around my eBay account into a profit. In my first year and a half, a lot of my earnings per month was on a negative side. The expenses are really eating my money. Most of my expenses are my internet subscription, cellphone load, inventories, and bubble-wraps. There weren't enough sale to break even. I guess the main reason is the hesitancy of people to make transactions over the net. I got a lot of inquiries about my items, that they are interested, but in the end, they pull out. The reason is that they are afraid of being scammed. It was difficult because I got only few feedbacks back then.
I can say that business is now picking up. I still got items that was supposed to be paid last February. But I guess it would be good that those items will be paid this month so that I can include them in the income column for this month. It can help boost again my earnings column. Hopefully, I will have my third consecutive 'positive earnings' month.
If you want to see the items that I sell, click here then click 'View Items For Sale' after landing on the feedback page.
