The importance of Diet

Earlier this morning, as I was eating my breakfast(it was a two medium-size pandesal and two cocktail hotdogs as 'palaman'), I just realized that I was not following my diet. Again!

What was this diet?
There is seven days in a week, right? In the five days of a week, I should not eat red meat. This include steaks, burgers, anything that is derived from beef and pork. I should only eat white meat. This include fishes, and chicken meat without the skin. For two days I can only eat those included in the red meat section.

It doesn't mean that I must eat five days straight without red meat. I can schedule them anytime within a week, like three straight day without red meat, then one day of red meat diet, two straight without, then again one day of red meat diet.

Sometimes, in order not to have withdrawal symptoms in red meat, I just space the red meat meals all over the whole week. The no red meat diet is composed of two days, right? That is a total of six meals. Sometimes what I do is I'll eat one red meat meal in every day of those six days. And I will not eat red meat on the seventh day. That is much easier thing to do.

Why am I doing this?
I have read an article before that high red meat intake increases the risks of having colon cancer. Who wants that? Nobody. This is where the saying 'Prevention is better that cure' comes in.

Why am I saying this?
I am saying this because there are lots of factors in the environment that can harm our body. And a lot of them our beyond our control(especially the pollution here in Manila). We(Manileños) are exposed frequently in these uncontrollable factors. That is why we must be aware on what we eat. The only thing we can control is what we put inside our body. We do not want to add another to those harmful factors, do we?
